And who is better [i.e., there is nobody better] in religion than the one who submits his face to Allah, while being a Muhsin, and follows the religion of Ibrahim, as a monotheist. And Allah took Ibrahim as a khaleel.” [An-Nisāʾ, Ayah 125]

From Ibn Mas’ood (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “I asked the Prophet ﷺ which action is most beloved to Allah?” He said, “Prayer on time.” Ibn Mas’ood said, “Then which one?” He said, “Then being good to your parents.” Ibn Mas’ood said, “Then which one?” He said, “Striving for the sake of Allah.” Ibn Mas’ood said, “He told these to me, and if I had asked him for more, he would have given me more.” [al-Bukhari & Muslim]

From Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “Whoever says laa ilaaha il-Allah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, one hundred times a day, he will have the reward of freeing ten slaves, and one hundred good deeds will be written for him, and one hundred sins will be wiped out for him, and he will have a barrier against Shaytaan on that day until the evening comes, and nobody will be able to do anything better than what he has done, except someone who does more than that. And whoever says subhaan-Allah wa bi-hamdihi one hundred times a day, his sins will be erased, even if they are like the foam of the sea.” [Muslim]

From Abu Umaamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ “Which action is best?” He said, “You should take to fasting, for there is nothing like it.” [an-Nasaa’i & Ahmad]

From ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) that a man asked the Prophet ﷺ, “Which action in Islam is best?” He said, “Feeding [others] food, and giving salaam to those that you know and those that you don’t.” [al-Bukhari & Muslim]

From Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, “They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, which part of Islam is best?’” He said, “The one who the Muslims are safe from his tongue and his hand.” [al-Bukhari and Muslim]

“And who is better in speech than the one who calls to Allah, and does good deeds, and says, ‘Indeed, I am from the Muslims’.” [Fuṣṣilat, Ayah 33]

From ‘Aa’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said that the Prophet ﷺ was asked, “Which actions are most beloved to Allah?” He said, “The most consistent, even if they are few.” He also said, “Take on the actions that you are able to do.” - and it is narrated that when Aa’ishah would do an action, she would stick to it.
